Objective

  1. Identify impairments in biomechanical subcomponents of gait in persons with stroke who have mild, moderate, and severe walking impairments 
  2. Create a treatment plan to target deficits in biomechanical subcomponents in persons with stroke who have mild, moderate, and severe walking impairments 
  3. Describe treatment strategies to maximize the time patients spend in the target heart rate zone while targeting impairments in biomechanical subcomponents 
  4. Explain how to safely monitor a patient’s vitals during a high-intensity gait training session 
  5. Describe how to modify a treatment plan based on a patient’s response to treatment 



Registration, Pricing, and CEUs

The intended audience for this course includes physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Registration is available on knowledgetranslation.org for $695 per person include continental breakfast and box lunches. The fees cover the in person course, 1-year membership to the community of practice, and several tools and resources to help clinicians implement high-intensity gait training in clinical practice.
